Sometimes, the best kind of adventures are the ones that I haven’t planned and I have no control over. My recent weeked in West Wales was one such trip. My friend’s family invited me to join them all for a caravan holiday to Cross Park in Broadmoor, near Tenby. Although I’m an experienced camper, I’ve never stayed in a caravan before. I wasn’t sure what to expect, or what was expected of me. We booked bronze caravans (which I assume precedes silver and gold), and ours was nicer than my apartment. We had three comfortable bedrooms, a kitchen area, lounge with a TV, shower and two toilets. The caravan was immaculately clean and tidy (before we arrived), and bedding was provided. In hindsight, I wish I’d thought to pack my camping box as there was no cloths or soap to do the washing up with, but I least I know for next time.
Cross park appears to be run by only a small team (although we accept we were there off-season), but they worked really hard to make our holiday as great as possible. From checking in, to serving us food and drink, entertaining us and answering our questions, there was always one of the team on hand with a friendly smile. We couldn’t have asked for a better base to explore West Wales from.
